The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Kannur is a government institution that was founded in 2008 and moved to its permanent campus in 2012. The infrastructure of NIFT Kannur includes an eight-story building provided by the State Government of Kerala. As a result, the design school offers 20% supernumerary seats for candidates who are state domicile residents of Kerala.
