The admission process for Raiganj University in 2024 is based on merit. The university is affiliated with three institutes that provide general and honours degree courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. These affiliated institutes include the Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning in Management (EIILM), Gourav Institute of Management Science, and Durapur Women’s College (DWC). Additionally, the university offers courses in two formats: Aided and Self-financed. The self-financed programmes at Raiganj University are conducted during the evening hours.
A separate merit list is created for self-financing courses. All eligible candidates must apply individually for the self-financed programmes. Admissions are granted based on the merit achieved in the qualifying examination, with the exception of the MBA programme, which considers the entrance test score.

The eligibility requirements for both aided and self-financed programmes are identical. Candidates who are in their final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for courses at Raiganj. However, they must provide a passed mark sheet before final admission. English is a compulsory subject for admission to any undergraduate course at Raiganj University. Candidates who have not studied and passed Class 12 in English will not be eligible for admission. Specific reservations apply for admission to aided courses at Raiganj University. For PG programmes under the aided mode, 80% of seats are allocated to students who have graduated from RGU, while the remaining 20% of seats are available to all applicants.
