Founded in 2006, the University of Patanjali is a private institution situated in Haridwar. It was established by Swami Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna with the aim of providing quality education that integrates various aspects of oriental wisdom and scientific knowledge. The university is backed by the Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust (PYP) and has received approval from the University Grants Commission (UGC).
