Veer Narmad South Gujarat University (VNSGU), commonly referred to as South Gujarat University, was established in 1965 to address the need for a dedicated university in South Gujarat. VNSGU is a public state university situated in Surat, with a sprawling campus covering 210 acres. The university received re-accreditation from NAAC with a Grade of ‘B++’ in 2022 and is recognized by the UGC. Currently, VNSGU has affiliations with 34 government colleges, 59 grants-in-aid colleges, 190 self-financed colleges, and 150 postgraduate teaching centers.
VNSGU provides a wide range of courses at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, encompassing 12 faculty departments, including Arts, Commerce, Science, Management Studies, and more. The university also offers diploma programs across various disciplines. VNSGU's undergraduate courses include BSc, BBA, BCom, BA, among others. At the postgraduate level, VNSGU offers MBA, MCom, MA, MPT, MSc, MS, and numerous other courses in various specializations. Admissions to VNSGU courses are based on both merit and entrance exams. The university accepts state and national-level examinations such as CMAT and CAT for specific course admissions. Additionally, it provides placement assistance to students.
