The Bar Council of India (BCI) is nearing the conclusion of the registration window for the All India Bar Examination (AIBE) 2026. Candidates intending to appear for the upcoming session must ensure their applications are submitted through the official website, allindiabarexamination.com, before the designated deadline of October 27, 2026.
This examination is a mandatory requirement for law graduates seeking to obtain their Certificate of Practice (COP), which allows them to practice law in courts across India. With the registration deadline fast approaching, the BCI has encouraged all eligible candidates to complete the process promptly to avoid any last-minute technical issues or complications.
To be eligible for the AIBE 2026, applicants must hold a law degree. The examination is open to both law graduates and students currently in their final year of an LLB program, provided they do not have any outstanding backlogs. It is essential for candidates to verify their eligibility status against their academic records before initiating the online registration process.
The application procedure is conducted entirely online. Candidates are required to visit the official AIBE portal, register with their credentials, and fill out the application form with accurate personal and academic information. During this process, applicants will need to upload specific documentation as required by the BCI guidelines. Once the form is submitted, candidates must ensure that the application fee is paid to finalize their registration. While the deadline for submitting the application form is October 27, the BCI has provided an additional day for fee payments, which must be completed by October 28, 2026.
The BCI has established a tiered fee structure based on the candidate's category. For candidates belonging to the General and OBC categories, the application fee is set at INR 3,500. For those belonging to the SC, ST, and PWD categories, the fee is reduced to INR 2,500. It is important to note that these amounts exclude any applicable bank charges that may be incurred during the online transaction process. Candidates are advised to keep a digital or printed copy of their payment receipt for future reference and verification purposes.
