AIIMS Releases INI CET 2027 Information Brochure; Registration Now Open

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has officially released the information brochure for the Institute of National Importance Combined Entrance Test (INI CET) for the January 2027 session. With the publication of the prospectus, the online registration process for the upcoming examination has now commenced on the official AIIMS examination portal, aiimsexams.ac.in.

Candidates aiming for postgraduate medical and dental seats at participating Institutes of National Importance are advised to complete their applications well before the deadline. The final date to submit the online application form is October 13, 2026, by 5 PM. Following the registration phase, the examination is scheduled to be held on November 1, 2026.

Key Examination Schedule and Application Details

The entrance test is a critical gateway for admission into various postgraduate courses, including MD, MS, DM (6 years), MCh (6 years), MDS, and MD (Hospital Administration). According to the official timeline, candidates will be able to verify their registration status between October 17 and October 19, 2026. The final registration status and admit cards are slated for release on October 26, 2026.

The examination will be conducted in a computer-based test (CBT) format. The paper consists of 200 questions to be completed within a duration of 180 minutes. The structure of the exam is divided into four distinct parts, with each part containing 50 questions and allotted a time frame of 45 minutes. Candidates should note that they will only be able to view and respond to questions within the currently active section. The marking scheme includes one mark for every correct answer, while a penalty of one-third of a mark applies to each incorrect response.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees

To be eligible for the examination, applicants must hold an MBBS degree for medical courses or a BDS degree for MDS programs from a recognized university. Additionally, candidates are required to possess a provisional or permanent registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC), the Dental Council of India (DCI), or a relevant state medical or dental council. Specific aggregate mark requirements apply, with 50% required for SC/ST candidates and 55% for General, OBC, and EWS categories in their professional MBBS/BDS examinations.

The application fee is set at INR 4,000 for General, OBC (NCL), Foreign National, OCI, and Sponsored candidates. Applicants from SC, ST, and EWS categories are required to pay INR 3,200, while candidates under the PwBD category are exempted from the fee. Payments must be processed online via credit card, debit card, or net banking. The results for the January 2027 session are expected to be declared on November 7, 2026, with the academic session scheduled to commence on January 1, 2027.
