Assam NEET UG 2026: Round 2 Registration Deadline Set for Today

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, is set to close the registration window for the second round of NEET UG 2026 counselling today, September 7. This phase of the admission process is specifically for candidates seeking entry into first-year MBBS and BDS programmes across government medical and dental colleges in the state under the state quota.

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria for the second round and have not yet submitted their applications are advised to complete the process promptly through the official DME Assam website at dme.assam.gov.in. The registration process requires applicants to provide their NEET UG details, personal information, and any necessary documentation as specified by the authorities.

Counselling Schedule and Next Steps

Following the conclusion of the registration period, the counselling process will move into the choice-filling phase. Candidates who have successfully registered will be able to log in and select their preferred medical and dental colleges starting September 8. This window for choice filling is scheduled to remain open until September 9, 2026.

The official schedule indicates that choice locking will take place on September 9, immediately following the conclusion of the preference selection period. Once the choices are locked, the seat allotment processing is slated to occur between September 10 and September 11. The results of the seat allotment for this round are expected to be released on September 11, 2026.

Successful candidates who are allocated seats will then be required to report to their respective allotted institutions for admission formalities. The reporting window has been set for September 17 to September 18, 2026. Applicants are encouraged to review their choices carefully before the locking deadline to ensure their preferences are accurately reflected in the system.
