Understanding the Importance of the Official CAT Mock Test

The release of the official mock test is a highly anticipated event for candidates aiming to secure a high percentile in the examination. While there is no formal confirmation from the authorities regarding the exact timing of the release, the expectation follows historical trends where such resources are typically provided in the lead-up to the exam. The CAT 2026 examination is currently scheduled to take place on November 29, 2026.

Practising with the official mock test is widely considered an essential step in a candidate's preparation strategy. It allows students to simulate the actual testing environment, helping them manage their time effectively and become comfortable with the digital format of the paper. By navigating the section-wise rules and the overall layout, candidates can reduce exam-day anxiety and improve their performance.

Accessing the Practice Resources

Candidates are advised to monitor the official website, iimcat.ac.in, for the activation of the mock test link. While various third-party platforms offer practice materials, the official mock test provided by the IIMs remains the most accurate representation of the actual exam's difficulty level and pattern. Students should ensure they visit the official portal to access the authentic test interface.

As the exam date approaches, candidates should focus on reviewing their preparation and utilising these official resources to refine their test-taking strategies. It is important to note that while the release is expected today, candidates should rely solely on updates provided through the official IIM CAT website for confirmed information and access to the practice link.
