CAT 2026: Fee Payment Deadline Extended to September 24

IIM Indore has officially announced an extension for the CAT 2026 registration fee payment window. While the deadline for submitting new applications remains unchanged, candidates who have successfully registered by the initial cutoff date now have additional time to complete their fee transactions.

According to the latest notification, applicants who complete their registration process by 5 PM on September 22 are eligible to pay their examination fees until 5 PM on September 24. It is important to note that this extension applies exclusively to the payment of fees for those already registered; there will be no extension granted for new registrations.

Important Registration and Payment Guidelines

Candidates must ensure they complete the registration formalities through the official IIM CAT website at iimcat.ac.in. For those who have yet to initiate the process, the 'New Registration' link must be used before the September 22 deadline. Once the initial registration is complete, candidates can use the candidate login portal to proceed with the fee payment within the extended timeframe.

The registration fee for the examination is set at INR 2700 for candidates in the unreserved category, while those belonging to reserved categories are required to pay INR 1350. IIM Indore has clarified that there will be no provision for a late fee payment window, and candidates are urged to adhere strictly to the established timelines to avoid disqualification.

Upcoming Correction Window and Admit Card Details

Following the conclusion of the fee payment window on September 24, the examination authority will open a form correction facility. This window is scheduled to become available during the first week of October. During this period, applicants will be permitted to modify specific details, such as test city preferences and uploaded documents, at no additional processing cost.

Looking ahead to the examination day, IIM Indore is set to release the CAT 2026 admit cards on November 5. Candidates are reminded that digital copies of the admit card will not be accepted at test centers. Official guidelines mandate that students must carry a color printout of the admit card on an A4-sized sheet. Furthermore, candidates are required to affix a passport-sized photograph—ideally the same one uploaded during the application process—to the document. This physical copy is essential as it must be signed and stamped by test center staff to verify attendance, with one copy being retained by the authorities for record-keeping purposes.
