The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is preparing to open its online portal for private candidate registrations for the 2027 Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations. While the board has already initiated the List of Candidates (LOC) process for regular students through their respective schools, a separate notification is expected shortly to outline the application process for private candidates.
Students intending to appear for the upcoming board exams under the private category are advised to monitor the official CBSE website for the activation of the registration link. Although the specific start date for the 2027 application window has not yet been confirmed, the board has indicated that the process will commence soon. This timeline represents a slight delay compared to the previous academic year, when the application window opened on September 9.
The private candidate category is specifically designed for students who have previously failed their board examinations, those who were placed in the compartment category, or individuals seeking to improve their existing marks. These candidates will sit for their examinations in February and March 2027, concurrently with regular students enrolled in affiliated schools.
Once the official notification is published, eligible students will be able to complete their registration through the board's dedicated portal. The process will require candidates to visit the official website at cbse.gov.in and navigate to the 'Latest @ CBSE' section. Applicants will need to provide their personal information, details regarding their previous examination attempts, and select their desired subjects. The final step involves the online payment of the application fee, after which candidates should save a copy of the submitted form as a PDF for their records.
