Candidates intending to appear for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027 have until tomorrow, October 31, 2026, to submit their applications without incurring additional charges. The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, which oversees the examination, will conclude the regular registration window at the end of the day.
Prospective students are encouraged to complete their registration through the official portal at ceedapp.iitb.ac.in. This examination serves as a gateway for candidates seeking admission to Master of Design (M.Des.) and PhD programmes in design at various participating institutions across the country.
For those who are unable to meet the initial deadline, IIT Bombay has provided a secondary window for submissions. Registration with a late fee of INR 500 will commence on November 1, 2026, and will remain open until 5 PM on November 6, 2026. After this final cutoff, no further applications will be accepted.
To register, candidates must visit the official website and navigate to the CEED 2027 portal. The process requires new applicants to register using a valid email address, which must be verified before proceeding. Once logged in, candidates are required to fill out the application form, upload the necessary documents—including a photograph and signature—and pay the prescribed application fee. It is advised that all applicants review their details thoroughly before final submission and retain a copy of the completed form for their records.
The CEED 2027 examination is scheduled to take place on January 17, 2027, from 9 AM to 12 noon. While the examination is a mandatory step for many design programmes, candidates should be aware that qualifying for the CEED does not grant automatic admission to any institution. Each participating university or college maintains its own specific admission criteria, which may include additional assessments, portfolios, or personal interviews. Applicants are responsible for applying separately to their preferred institutions and fulfilling the individual requirements set by those schools.
