The application window for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2027 is nearing its conclusion, with the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) set to close the registration portal on October 31. Candidates who intend to participate in the upcoming entrance examination for admission into law programmes across India are advised to complete their submissions promptly to avoid potential technical issues associated with high traffic near the deadline.

Since the registration process opened on August 3, 2026, the Consortium has facilitated the application procedure exclusively through its official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Prospective students seeking entry into five-year integrated LL.B. courses or one-year LL.M. programmes must ensure their profiles are created and all required details are verified online, as the authorities do not accept physical or offline application forms.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees

To be eligible for the undergraduate law programme, candidates must have successfully completed their Class 12 or an equivalent board examination. The Consortium has specified minimum qualifying marks based on category: applicants under the General, OBC, and NRI categories are required to have secured at least 45% marks, while those belonging to the SC and ST categories must have attained a minimum of 40%.

The application fee structure is tiered based on the candidate's category. For General, OBC, PWD, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates, the registration fee is set at INR 4,000. For applicants falling under the SC, ST, or BPL categories, the fee is reduced to INR 3,500. It is essential for candidates to review their information carefully before final submission to prevent any errors that could lead to the rejection of their application.

Exam Schedule and Admission Process

Following the conclusion of the registration period, the examination is scheduled to take place on December 6. This test serves as the primary gateway for admission to 26 national law schools, along with various other participating institutions throughout the country. As the final date for registration approaches, applicants are encouraged to finalize their documentation and payment processes to ensure their eligibility for the December examination.
