The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is set to conduct the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) on October 31, 2026. As the examination date approaches, candidates are advised to finalise their preparations and familiarise themselves with the mandatory reporting protocols and security guidelines established by the board. The FMGE serves as a critical screening test for Indian citizens and overseas citizens of India who have completed their primary medical education abroad and intend to register to practise medicine within India.
To facilitate entry into the examination centres, the NBEMS released the official admit cards on October 27, 2026. Candidates who have successfully registered for the screening test are required to download their hall tickets from the official website at natboard.edu.in. The admit card is a mandatory document that contains essential details, including the candidate's personal information, the specific examination centre address, and the designated reporting schedule. It is imperative that candidates verify the accuracy of all printed details, such as their name, roll number, and photograph, well in advance of the exam day.
The examination is structured into two shifts, and candidates must adhere strictly to the timings specified for their respective papers. For the first shift, the entry gate closes at 8:30 AM, with the examination commencing at 9:00 AM and concluding at 11:30 AM. For the second shift, the entry gate closes at 1:50 PM, the examination begins at 2:00 PM, and concludes at 4:30 PM. NBEMS officials strongly recommend that candidates arrive at their allotted centres at least 30 minutes prior to the gate closing time to complete necessary identity verification and security procedures without delay.
To ensure a smooth entry, candidates should plan their travel logistics in advance, especially if their assigned centre requires a significant commute. On the day of the exam, candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card and a valid, original photo identity document as specified by the NBEMS. It is essential to review the specific instructions printed on the hall ticket regarding additional requirements, such as photographs, to avoid any last-minute complications at the centre.
The NBEMS maintains a strict policy regarding items permitted inside the examination hall. Candidates are prohibited from bringing electronic devices, including mobile phones, Bluetooth-enabled gadgets, and smartwatches, into the centre. Furthermore, the possession of books, study notes, loose papers, or any other unauthorised material is strictly forbidden. Personal belongings that do not comply with the examination guidelines will not be allowed inside the testing area.
Candidates are encouraged to prepare their documents and belongings the day before the examination to prevent any confusion. By adhering to the official guidelines, verifying the centre location, and ensuring all required identification is ready, candidates can focus on their performance. For any further updates or official notices, candidates should continue to monitor the official NBEMS website.
