The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a fresh advisory for students preparing to register for the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examination. In a public notice released on October 28, 2026, the testing body outlined specific requirements regarding digital identity verification and the accuracy of personal information provided during the application process.
These updated guidelines are designed to streamline the registration experience and prevent potential discrepancies during subsequent stages of the examination, including identity verification and biometric authentication. Candidates are currently able to submit their applications through the official NTA portal, with the registration window set to remain open until November 22, 2026.
A primary focus of the new advisory is the use of personal login credentials. The NTA has explicitly instructed applicants to utilize their own DigiLocker, JanParichay, or e-Pramaan (MeriPehchaan) accounts when initiating the registration process. The agency emphasized that students must not use the accounts of other individuals, as doing so may lead to complications during the verification process.
Furthermore, the NTA has made it mandatory for candidates to complete the Re-KYC process via DigiLocker before they begin filling out their application forms. This step is intended to ensure that the most current and accurate information is retrieved for each applicant. Students are encouraged to verify that their details within the DigiLocker platform are up to date before proceeding with their JEE Main 2027 submission.
In addition to digital identity requirements, the NTA has reiterated the importance of data accuracy regarding personal identification. The agency stated that the name and date of birth entered by a candidate in the JEE Main 2027 application form must correspond exactly with the information recorded in their Class 10 certificate or marksheet.
The NTA warned that any mismatch between the application details and official Class 10 records could cause significant difficulties during document verification or other critical phases of the examination cycle. Consequently, the agency has advised all applicants to conduct a thorough review of their entries before final submission. By ensuring that all information is consistent and verified, candidates can help facilitate a smoother application experience as they prepare for the upcoming session.
