Registration and Choice Filling for CSAB 2026 Special Round Postponed; Revised Timeline Anticipated

The Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced a postponement of the registration and choice filling process for the CSAB 2026 Special Round, leaving candidates awaiting further updates. Originally scheduled to commence soon, the process will now be delayed until a revised timeline is provided. Candidates are encouraged to regularly check the official CSAB website for the latest information regarding the new schedule.

In light of this postponement, the timeline for the payment of the Special Round Enrolment Fee (SERF) and subsequent seat allotment may also be affected. As of now, no new dates have been released, and the CSAB has advised candidates to remain vigilant for updates that will clarify the changes to the counselling process. The CSAB Special Round is an annual event aimed at filling vacant seats that remain after the JoSAA counselling concludes.

Eligible candidates who have successfully qualified in the JEE Main 2026 examination can participate in this special round to secure admission to available seats in National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs), and other participating institutions. The counselling process typically involves several steps, including registration, payment of the participation fee, online choice filling, seat allotment, online reporting, document verification, and final fee payment.

Seat allotment is determined based on various factors, including the JEE Main 2026 rank, candidates' preferences, category, and seat availability. Once the revised schedule is published, candidates will need to complete their registration by paying the required participation fee and submitting their preferred choices of institutes and courses within the specified deadline.
