The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the 22nd Edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will take place on September 6, 2026. This examination is crucial for aspiring teachers, as it assesses their eligibility to teach in schools across India. Candidates preparing for the CTET are encouraged to focus on key topics in Child Development and Pedagogy (CDP) to enhance their revision and overall preparation. With the exam date approaching, it is essential for candidates to identify their weak areas, rectify repeated mistakes, and improve their accuracy in answering questions.
The CTET 2026 exam will be divided into two papers, each scheduled at different times. Paper 1 will be conducted in the afternoon, while Paper 2 is set for the morning shift. Paper 1 consists of 150 multiple-choice questions covering five subjects: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. In contrast, Paper 2 includes four subjects: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language-I, Language-II, and either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies/Social Sciences.
Approximately ten days prior to the examination, candidates can expect the release of their city slips, which will provide information about their designated exam centers. To access this information, candidates will need to download their pre-admit cards by entering their application number and date of birth. The pre-admit cards will be available on the official CTET portal, allowing candidates to verify their exam city and date.
Furthermore, the official CTET admit card will be issued two days before the exam, detailing the allotted exam center. It is imperative for candidates to arrive at their respective centers well in advance, as they are generally required to report 120 minutes prior to the start of the examination. Adhering to the reporting time is crucial for a smooth examination experience.
As the CTET exam approaches, candidates are advised to concentrate on important topics in Child Development and Pedagogy, review previous years' questions, and take mock tests to bolster their confidence. This focused preparation will be instrumental in helping candidates perform well in the upcoming examination.
