The University of Delhi has officially extended the application deadline for its Financial Support Scheme (FSS) for the 2026-27 academic session. Students seeking financial assistance to help manage their educational expenses now have until October 23, 2026, to submit their applications through the university's designated portal.
This initiative, managed by the Dean Students’ Welfare (DSW) office, is designed to provide fee waivers to eligible students based on their annual family income. The extension provides a significant window for students who may have missed the previous deadline of October 13, 2026, to complete their registration process.
To apply for the scheme, students must visit the official DSW website at dsw.du.ac.in/financial-support-scheme. The university has advised applicants to ensure that all information provided in the online form is accurate and aligns with their supporting documentation. Before finalizing their submission, candidates are required to have all necessary academic, income, fee, and bank-related documents prepared.
The financial support is categorized based on the student's annual family income. Students falling into Category I, with an annual family income between INR 0 and INR 4 lakh, are eligible for a 100% fee waiver, capped at INR 15,000. Those in Category II, with an annual family income between INR 4 lakh and INR 8 lakh, may receive a 50% fee waiver, capped at INR 10,000.
The scheme is specifically intended for full-time bonafide students currently enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programmes at a Department, Institute, or Centre of the University of Delhi. However, there are specific exclusions to note: students enrolled in colleges, BTech programmes (with the exception of CIC), the Five-Year Integrated Law Programme, the School of Open Learning (SOL), and NCWEB are not eligible for this support. Additionally, students who have an Essential Repeat (ER) in any previous examination are disqualified from applying.
While the online application process is currently underway, the university has indicated that the schedule for submitting hard copies of the completed application forms, along with the required supporting documents, to the DSW office will be communicated at a later date.
