DRDO’s CASDIC Announces 30 Paid Internship Positions for Engineering and Science Students

The Combat Aircraft Systems Development and Integration Centre (CASDIC), a laboratory operating under the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), has officially invited applications for its 2026 internship programme. The initiative offers 30 paid positions for students currently pursuing higher education in engineering and science disciplines, providing them with an opportunity to gain practical experience within a premier defence research environment.

Interested candidates must submit their applications by the deadline of October 11, 2026. The programme is designed to span a duration of six months, during which selected interns will be engaged in various technical projects across the laboratory. The positions are distributed among specific engineering and science branches, with 12 slots allocated for Electrical, Electronics and Communication, and Electronics and Telecommunication engineering students. Additionally, there are 13 positions available for those in Computer Science and Information Technology, and 5 positions reserved for Mechanical Engineering students.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Process

To be considered for these internships, applicants must meet specific academic and age requirements. The programme is open to students currently in the final year of their B.E./B.Tech courses, as well as those in the second year of their M.Sc programmes. Applicants must be enrolled in full-time courses at institutions recognized by the AICTE or UGC and must be under 25 years of age.

Academic performance is a key factor in the selection process. B.E./B.Tech candidates are required to have maintained a minimum CGPA of 7.5 across all previous semesters. For M.Sc applicants, a minimum of 70% marks in the first year of their programme is mandatory. Interested students are required to fill out the prescribed application form with their personal and academic details and submit it via email to hrd.casdic@gov.in.

Stipend and Selection Procedure

Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of INR 5,000, provided they complete a minimum of 15 working days at the laboratory each month. The disbursement of this stipend is structured into two installments: the first will be paid after the successful completion of the initial three months, and the second will be released upon the conclusion of the full six-month term.

The selection process will primarily focus on the academic records of the applicants. However, the centre reserves the right to conduct an online interview or interaction if deemed necessary. Final selection will be determined by a combination of the candidate's eligibility, their academic history, and their performance during any required selection interactions. Prospective applicants are encouraged to ensure all documentation is accurate before submission to avoid any delays in the review process.
