Candidates who are unable to complete the DigiLocker verification process are now permitted to proceed with their registration using an unverified account. In such cases, applicants should select their preferred identity proof directly on the GOAPS portal. The verification of these documents will be conducted at a later stage during the application scrutiny process.

Resolving Technical Glitches and Application Requirements

Addressing common concerns regarding document uploads, IIT Madras has clarified that there is no mandatory requirement to upload specific documents into a DigiLocker folder for General, OBC-NCL, or EWS candidates at this stage. Applicants are advised to select one valid form of identification, such as an Aadhar card, PAN card, APAAR ID, or a driving license, ensuring that the details provided are accurate and up to date. For those encountering consent issues, it is recommended to set the consent validity to three years and clearly specify the purpose of the verification within the portal settings before attempting to retry the process.

Candidates should also be mindful of their category selection, particularly those belonging to the OBC-NCL category. It is essential to select the correct category option and ensure that a valid non-creamy layer certificate is available, as this will be required during the subsequent admission phase. While candidates are permitted to modify their application details, these changes can only be made prior to the completion of the fee payment. Once the payment has been processed, further edits will only be possible during the designated application correction window.

Following the September 27 deadline for regular applications, candidates will still have the opportunity to register until October 5, 2026, though this period will incur late fees.
