The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has officially initiated the counselling process for the AIEEA PG 2026 examination, marking the start of admissions for postgraduate programmes in agriculture and allied sciences. Following the release of the Round 1 seat allotment results on October 5, 2026, candidates who have been successfully allocated a seat are now required to navigate the mandatory post-allotment procedures to confirm their admission.

The current phase of the process involves several critical steps, including document verification and the payment of the seat acceptance fee. Candidates are advised to log in to the official ICAR counselling portal to check their allotment status and download their provisional allotment letter, which serves as a vital document for all subsequent admission formalities.

Completing the Admission Process and Document Verification

Once a candidate has been allotted a seat, the primary responsibility is to ensure that all required documents are correctly uploaded for verification. The process is conducted online, with the respective university or institute responsible for reviewing the submitted credentials. It is essential for candidates to remain vigilant and monitor their counselling dashboard regularly, as institutions may raise queries or request the resubmission of specific documents. Failure to address these requests within the stipulated deadlines could jeopardise the provisional allotment.

After the successful verification of documents, candidates are required to pay a seat acceptance fee of INR 10,000 through the designated online portal. The ICAR advises candidates to retain the payment confirmation receipt for their records. In the event of technical issues where funds are deducted but the transaction status does not update immediately, candidates are cautioned against initiating duplicate payments and should instead wait for the system to reflect the transaction.

Upgradation and Future Counselling Rounds

For candidates who were not satisfied with their initial allotment, the ICAR provides an opportunity for seat upgradation during the first three rounds of counselling. Those who opt for this process should be aware that if a higher-preference seat is secured in a subsequent round, the previous allotment will be automatically cancelled, and the candidate must accept the newly upgraded seat.

The counselling process is structured across multiple stages to ensure all available seats are filled. Following the Round 1 results, the next allotment is scheduled for October 9, 2026, with further rounds planned for October 12 and 15. For those who did not receive an allotment in the first round or for seats that remain vacant after the regular rounds, a mop-up or final round will be conducted. Candidates are encouraged to keep track of the official schedule to ensure they do not miss any critical deadlines in the ongoing admission cycle.
