IIM Raipur Launches MBA in Public Policy for free with Govt Fellowship

A new MBA in Public Policy and Governance at IIM Raipur is fully funded by the Chhattisgarh Government. Eligible candidates will receive a Rs 50,000 monthly stipend and must hold a valid CAT score and meet academic and age criteria.

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, in collaboration with the Government of Chhattisgarh, has introduced a two-year MBA program in Public Policy and Governance. This initiative is part of the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Fellowship (CMGGF), aiming to develop future leaders in public policy by combining academic excellence with practical governance experience.

Program Highlights

Full Sponsorship: The Chhattisgarh government will cover the entire tuition fee for all enrolled students.
Monthly Stipend: Each student will receive a stipend of Rs 50,000 per month to support academic pursuits, including boarding and lodging during sessions at IIM Raipur.
Limited Seats: The program will admit 36 students, ensuring focused attention and quality education.

Eligibility Criteria

Place of residence: Applicants must be residents of Chhattisgarh.
Educational Qualification: A graduation degree with at least 60% marks (55% for reserved categories) or an equivalent CGPA.
CAT Score: A valid CAT score from the years 2022, 2023, or 2024.
Age Limit: Candidates should not be older than 35 years as of the application deadline.

Admission Process

The selection process includes shortlisting based on CAT scores, followed by group discussions and/or personal interviews. A caution deposit of Rs 1,00,000 is required upon admission confirmation.

The program provides a combination of classroom instruction at IIM Raipur and hands-on experience gained via assignments in different government agencies and local governments. Leadership, governance structures, policy analysis, and decision-making are important areas of concentration.

Jobs in government agencies, public sector businesses, policy think tanks, consulting firms, and other public administration and governance-related organizations will be well-suited for graduates.
