IIT Bombay to Open CEED 2027 Registration Process in October

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is preparing to initiate the application process for the Common Entrance Examination for Design (CEED) 2027. This entrance exam serves as a gateway for students aspiring to pursue Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes across participating IITs. Interested candidates are advised to monitor the official examination portal as the registration window is expected to open on October 1, 2026.

According to the official schedule released by the institute, the CEED 2027 examination is slated to take place on January 17, 2027. Comprehensive details regarding the examination, including the information brochure and specific guidelines, are scheduled to be made available on the official website, ceed.iitb.ac.in, on the same day that the registration process commences.

Eligibility Criteria and Application Requirements

Before submitting an application, candidates must ensure they meet the academic requirements set forth by the examination board. To be eligible to appear for CEED 2027, applicants must hold a degree, diploma, or postgraduate degree programme of at least three years duration following the 10+2 level. Students who are currently enrolled and expect to complete their final examinations by July 2027 are also eligible to apply. Additionally, those who have completed the GD Arts diploma programme (10+5 level) by July 2027 meet the criteria. Notably, there is no upper age limit or restriction on the number of attempts for the examination.

The application fee structure has been established at INR 4,000 for general category candidates, while female, SC, ST, and PwD candidates are required to pay a fee of INR 2,000. Applicants are encouraged to prepare necessary documentation in advance, including academic marksheets, birth certificates, and relevant category certificates. Furthermore, candidates must provide a valid email address and mobile number to facilitate communication throughout the admission process. It is important to note that while these criteria apply to the entrance exam, individual institutes may have specific admission requirements that candidates should verify independently before applying.
