The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has once again extended the application deadline for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM). Candidates who missed the earlier deadline now have until October 24 to submit their applications through the official website: jam.iitkgp.ac.in.

The institute has stressed that this is the “last and final time” an extension is being provided to aspirants. Therefore, eligible ones are advised not to wait until the last moment to apply, as a website crash or slow down might result in passage of deadline.

Who’s Eligible for IIT JAM 2027

Candidates who satisfy the following eligibility requirements can apply for JAM 2027:

Their undergraduate programme should have been completed before the date of admission to the respective admitting institute.
Candidates' proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required eligibility, as specified by the respective admitting institute, must be submitted within the prescribed timeline.

What’s the application fee for IIT JAM 2027

The gender- and category-wise application fee for candidates is as follows:

Female / SC / ST / PwD: ₹1,000 for one test paper and ₹1,350 for two test papers
All Others: ₹2,000 for one test paper and ₹2,700 for two test papers

How to Apply for IIT JAM 2027

Follow these simple instructions to apply online:

Visit the official website: jam.iitkgp.ac.in.
On the homepage, look for the registration link and click it.
Complete registration by entering basic information.
Fill out the IIT JAM 2027 application form.
Upload the relevant documents and pay the fee.
Submit the form and keep a printout for reference.

IIT Kharagpur will activate the JOAPS portal for corrections to the application form on November 10, 2026. During this period, registered candidates will be permitted to edit select fields.

Admit cards are expected to be released a few days before the scheduled examination date, i.e., February 14, 2027.
