The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to commence the registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027 in the coming weeks. Following the official announcement of the exam schedule for the first session, prospective candidates for undergraduate engineering, architecture, and planning programs are preparing for the upcoming application window, which is anticipated to open between September and October 2026.
The JEE Main serves as the primary gateway for admission into prestigious institutions offering BTech, BE, BArch, and BPlanning courses. With the examination structure confirmed to take place in two sessions, the NTA has already published the dates for the first session, which are scheduled for January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30, 2027. Once the application portal goes live, the NTA typically keeps the registration window open for a period of 25 to 30 days to ensure all eligible students have sufficient time to submit their details.
As the application deadline approaches, students are advised to gather all necessary documentation to ensure a smooth registration process. The NTA requires specific identification and academic records to verify candidate eligibility. Essential documents include an updated Aadhaar card or an alternative government-issued ID such as a PAN card, Voter ID, or passport. Additionally, applicants must have an active mobile number and a functional email address for all official correspondence.
Candidates will also need to provide scanned copies of their photograph and signature, adhering to strict dimension and file size specifications. A passport-sized photograph in JPEG or JPG format should measure 3.5 cm by 4.5 cm, with a file size between 10 KB and 200 KB. Similarly, signatures must be provided in the same format, measuring 3.5 cm by 1.5 cm, with a size ranging from 10 KB to 100 KB. Other mandatory documents, such as Class 10 certificates, category certificates, and PwD/PwBD certificates, must be uploaded in PDF format within specified size limits.
While the official information bulletin is pending release, the tentative timeline suggests that the online registration process will likely begin in the last week of October 2026. The NTA is expected to set the application deadline for the fourth week of November 2026, with the fee payment deadline falling within the same month. Following the conclusion of the registration phase, a correction window is anticipated to open in early December 2026, allowing candidates to rectify any discrepancies in their submitted forms.
Students are encouraged to monitor the official NTA website regularly for the release of the information brochure and the activation of the application link. By preparing the required documents in advance and staying informed about the official schedule, candidates can avoid last-minute technical issues during the registration period.
