The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) is preparing to release the official schedule for the second round of the Karnataka PGCET 2026 counselling process. Students awaiting further updates on their postgraduate admissions are advised to keep a close watch on the official KEA portal, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea, where the detailed timeline will be published once finalized.
This upcoming phase of the admission process is particularly significant for candidates who did not secure a seat during the initial round of allotment, as well as for those who are seeking to upgrade their previously allotted seats. The authority has been managing the admission flow for various professional postgraduate programs, including MBA, MCA, MTech, and MArch, in accordance with the guidelines established for the 2026 academic session.
In a notification issued on October 9, 2026, the KEA provided specific instructions regarding the provisional admission process. As part of the ongoing procedures, candidates were required to complete their choice entry by 10 AM on October 13, 2026. Following this, a window for rearranging options was opened, running from 2 PM on October 13 until 10 AM on October 15, 2026. These steps are essential for candidates to maintain their eligibility for the subsequent seat allocation rounds.
The current counselling framework is being conducted as a continuation of the first round. Notably, the KEA has approached the Honourable Supreme Court with a petition requesting permission to conduct two additional rounds of PGCET counselling. Furthermore, the authority has sought a directive for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to establish separate admission calendars for undergraduate and postgraduate programs, citing the ongoing nature of PG admissions across various states.
While the KEA continues to facilitate the admission process through the provision of choice-based selections, all participants are encouraged to rely solely on official communications. The authority has emphasized that the current round is proceeding under the existing guidelines while awaiting further clarity from the Supreme Court regarding the proposed additional rounds.
Candidates aiming for admission into MBA, MCA, and other technical postgraduate courses should regularly visit the dedicated PGCET 2026 section on the KEA website. Official notices, updated schedules, and specific instructions for the second round of counselling will be posted directly to the portal to ensure transparency and accessibility for all applicants.
