KCET 2026 Round 2 Option Submission Opens; Important Dates and Guidelines Announced

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has officially launched the second-round option entry portal for the Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET) 2026, implementing stringent selection rules ahead of the anticipated results on August 19. This marks the commencement of the KCET Round 2 counselling process, which allows candidates to submit, modify, or delete their course preferences online. The option entry window will remain open until August 13, 2026, providing ample time for candidates to finalize their choices.

Executive Director H. Prasanna (IAS) announced the activation of the portal via KEA's social media channels, emphasizing the importance of this phase in the counselling process. The provisional seat allotment results for various courses, including engineering, agricultural science, and medical streams, are scheduled to be released on August 19, 2026. This simultaneous allotment aims to streamline the process for students across different disciplines.

In this second round, candidates are granted the opportunity to register, alter, or delete their options for the first time. Following the announcement of the second-round allotment results, UGCET candidates will have two choices: Choice-1, which allows them to accept and freeze their allotted seat, and Choice-4, which permits them to exit the counselling process entirely. This flexibility is designed to accommodate the varying needs of candidates as they navigate their educational paths.

For those who have not yet completed the document verification process, KEA has scheduled a verification day on Saturday, allowing candidates to visit the KEA office to finalize their documentation. This step is crucial for candidates to obtain their verification slip and access the option entry portal. Additionally, students who previously exited the system using Choice-4 or did not make a selection during the first round can re-enter the counselling process by paying a fee of INR 750.
