L’Oréal has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, marking a significant collaboration aimed at enhancing innovation in artificial intelligence (AI) and data science within the beauty technology sector. The agreement, signed at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus, seeks to create valuable opportunities for students through increased industry interaction and support for emerging technologies.
This partnership will provide students with hands-on experience in real-world technology applications, as well as access to industry experts and various research initiatives. Key components of the collaboration include joint hackathons, innovation challenges, guest lectures, seminars, and curriculum support, all designed to foster a deeper understanding of the intersection between academia and industry.
Students will also have the chance to engage in research projects and connect with professionals specializing in AI, data engineering, and digital transformation. This collaboration follows L’Oréal's announcement of its Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad, which is set to receive an investment of over Rs. 3,500 crore (€350 million) by 2030, focusing on advanced technologies that will support the company’s global business.
Prashant Vijay, Head of the L’Oréal India Tech Hub, emphasized that this partnership will facilitate connections with talented engineering students and accelerate the company’s AI and data-driven initiatives.
