Candidates preparing for the Maharashtra Teacher Eligibility Test (MAHA TET) 2026 have received official clarification regarding the status of their applications following the recent postponement of the examination. The Maharashtra State Council of Examination (MSCE) has confirmed that students who had already completed their registration and paid the required fees for the test will not be expected to make any additional payments or submit new applications for the rescheduled date.
The examination, which was originally slated to take place on June 28, 2026, was called off by the council on June 27. The decision to postpone the test followed reports of a potential question paper leak, with authorities recovering suspected exam material in the Bhiwandi area. In an effort to maintain the integrity, fairness, and transparency of the recruitment process, the MSCE opted to delay the assessment until further notice.
Addressing concerns regarding the financial and administrative impact of the postponement, MSCE Deputy Commissioner Priya Shinde stated that registered candidates are not required to take any further action regarding their enrollment. The council has advised those who have already paid the application fee to retain their payment receipts, registration details, and application confirmations as proof of their status. These documents will remain valid for the rescheduled examination date, which is yet to be officially announced.
The council has also issued a strong advisory to candidates regarding the proliferation of misinformation on social media platforms. Officials have warned students to disregard any unofficial notices or claims circulating online that purport to announce a new date for the MAHA TET 2026. The MSCE emphasized that all legitimate updates, including the revised examination schedule and any subsequent instructions, will be communicated exclusively through official channels.
As the MSCE works to finalize the logistics for the rescheduled test, candidates are encouraged to continue their preparations without interruption. The council has not yet provided a specific timeline for the new exam date, and students should monitor the official website for verified announcements. By remaining focused on their studies and relying only on information provided directly by the examination board, candidates can ensure they are prepared whenever the new date is confirmed.
