The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is set to wrap up the registration process for the online stray vacancy round of NEET UG 2026 counselling today. Candidates who have qualified for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and are seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the All India Quota (AIQ) are advised to complete their applications promptly through the official portal at mcc.nic.in.
In addition to the registration, today serves as the final deadline for candidates to complete their mandatory counselling fee payments. The MCC has emphasised that students should finalise their submissions well ahead of the deadline to avoid any last-minute technical complications. Once the registration window closes, the focus will shift entirely to the choice-filling and seat allotment phases of the process.
Following the conclusion of today's registration and fee payment window, the counselling process will proceed to the choice-filling stage. Candidates have until October 15, 2026, to submit their preferred choices for institutions. The facility for choice locking is scheduled to conclude at 10 AM on the same day. It is essential for applicants to ensure their choices are locked within the stipulated timeframe to be considered for the seat allotment process.
The MCC will conduct the seat allotment processing between October 15 and October 16, 2026. The final results for the online stray vacancy round are slated for release on October 17, 2026. Candidates who are successfully allotted a seat will be required to report to their respective institutes for admission formalities between October 19 and October 26, 2026.
To participate in this round, candidates must visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in and navigate to the UG Medical Counselling section. From there, they should select the registration link specifically designated for the online stray vacancy round. Applicants will need to provide their NEET UG 2026 credentials and personal details to proceed. After completing the registration and ensuring the counselling fee is paid, candidates are advised to save a copy of the confirmation page for their records.
