The registration window for the first round of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) NEET UG Counselling 2026 will close today, August 12, at 3 PM. Candidates who have successfully qualified for the NEET UG examination and have not yet registered for the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling are urged to complete their registration at the official MCC website, mcc.admissions.nic.in. This step is crucial for those seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programs across various medical institutions in India.

The MCC is responsible for conducting online counselling for NEET UG, which encompasses 15% of the All India Quota seats, as well as seats in Central Universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC institutions, Deemed Universities, and other participating institutes. In addition to registration, candidates must also fill out their choices for preferred colleges and courses as part of the counselling process. This choice filling is essential for determining their placement in the upcoming seat allotment.

To ensure a smooth registration process, candidates must complete their registration, fee payment, and other necessary formalities by the stipulated deadline. Those who fail to register within this timeframe will miss the opportunity to participate in the first round of counselling. The subsequent important dates include the last date for choice filling on August 13, 2026, and the announcement of the NEET seat allotment round 1 results on August 17, 2026.

The registration fees for NEET UG counselling vary by category. For the 15% AIQ and Central Universities, the non-refundable fee is INR 1,000 for general candidates and INR 500 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates. For Deemed Universities, the fee is set at INR 5,000 for all categories. Additionally, a refundable tuition fee is required, which is INR 10,000 for general candidates and INR 5,000 for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates in the AIQ and Central Universities, while it is INR 2,00,000 for all categories in Deemed Universities.

Candidates who have not yet registered can follow a straightforward process on the MCC website. They need to navigate to the UG Medical Counselling section, select "New Registration for UG Counselling 2026," enter their NEET roll number and password, complete the application form, and upload any required documents. After registration and fee payment, candidates must fill in their preferred colleges and courses, arranging their choices based on their preferences, NEET rank, category, and previous-year closing ranks to optimize their chances of admission.
