MCC Revises NEET SS 2025 Special Stray Vacancy Round Counselling Schedule

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially announced a revised schedule for the special stray vacancy round of the NEET SS 2025 counselling process. This update provides candidates with an extended window to complete their registration and finalize their preferences for the remaining seats available in the current academic cycle.

According to the latest notification, the registration portal for the special stray vacancy round will remain open until 5:00 PM on September 29, 2026. Candidates are also required to complete their fee payments by 7:00 PM on the same day. Following the registration phase, the deadline for choice-filling has been set for 12:00 PM on September 30, 2026.

Details Regarding Seat Matrix and Future Notifications

The revision to the counselling timeline follows a significant update to the seat matrix. In compliance with a Supreme Court order dated September 17, 2026, regarding the case of the Tamil Nadu Medical Officers Association versus the Union of India, 33 vacant in-service seats have been reverted to the national pool. These seats, which became available following the conclusion of the state-level stray vacancy round in Tamil Nadu, have now been integrated into the All India Special Stray Vacancy Round seat matrix.

While the registration and choice-filling dates have been clarified, the MCC has not yet released the specific dates for the seat allotment results or the subsequent reporting period for successful candidates.
