The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially updated the seat matrix for the second round of NEET UG 2026 counselling, incorporating 30 additional MBBS seats. This adjustment provides new opportunities for candidates participating in the All India Quota (AIQ) process, allowing them to adjust their preference lists to include these newly available positions.
These additional seats are distributed across three specific institutions located in Karnataka and Bihar. Candidates are encouraged to review the updated seat matrix on the official MCC portal to ensure their choice-filling strategy aligns with these latest developments before the upcoming deadlines.
The 30 new seats have been allocated to three medical colleges. Bagalkote Medical College and Research Institute in Karnataka has received 15 seats. In Bihar, the Government Medical College in Chapra, Saran, has been allocated 7 seats, while Shri Ram Janki Medical College and Hospital in Samastipur has added 8 seats to the pool. All of these positions are designated for the All India Quota.
In conjunction with this update, the MCC has reminded candidates that the deadline for the Round 2 reset option is today, September 7, 2026, at 5 PM. This facility is essential for applicants who need to modify their previously submitted choices. Following the reset window, the choice-filling and locking process will remain open until September 9, 2026. The seat allotment results for this round are scheduled to be released on September 11, 2026.
