MHT CET 2026: CAP Round 3 Seat Allotment Results Released

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has officially released the seat allotment results for the third round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for the 2026-27 academic year. This latest phase of the counselling process for first-year undergraduate engineering programmes has resulted in the allocation of 116,690 seats across various institutions in the state.

According to the data provided by the CET Cell, this round of admissions saw a mix of new allotments and seat upgrades. Specifically, 11,505 students were granted an engineering seat for the first time, while 105,185 candidates successfully secured an upgraded seat through the betterment option. Furthermore, 9,766 students were allotted one of their top six preferred choices during this round.

Important Deadlines and Seat Acceptance Procedures

Candidates who have been allotted a seat in this round must adhere to the official schedule to confirm their admission. The window for self-verification and online seat acceptance opened on August 25 and will remain active until 5 PM on August 28, 2026. During this period, students are required to complete all necessary online formalities to secure their position.

Following the online acceptance, candidates must report to their respective allotted institutes to complete the physical document verification and finalise their admission. This process must also be completed by the August 28, 2026, deadline. It is essential for students to ensure all required documentation, including caste validity and non-creamy layer certificates, is in order to avoid any complications during the institutional reporting phase.

Understanding Allotment Rules and Preferences

The CET Cell has reminded candidates of the specific rules regarding seat preferences. For students who were allotted one of their first six preferences, the seat is automatically frozen. Under the current CAP regulations, these candidates are not eligible to participate in any subsequent rounds of the counselling process. For those who received an allotment outside of their top six preferences, the choice remains to either accept the seat or opt for betterment in future rounds, provided they follow the prescribed procedures within the designated timeframe.
