NTA Announces CMAT 2027 Exam Date for February 7

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially confirmed the schedule for the Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) 2027. According to the latest notification released by the testing body, the national-level entrance examination for MBA admissions is set to take place on February 7, 2027.

This announcement comes as part of the NTA's broader release of its 2027 examination calendar, which outlines dates for various entrance tests across multiple academic streams. As a primary gateway for admission into more than 1,300 management institutions across India, the CMAT remains a critical milestone for prospective MBA students.

Exam Format and Registration Expectations

While the NTA has confirmed the examination date, the formal registration window has not yet opened. Based on current projections and previous cycles, candidates can anticipate the application process to commence during the second or third week of October 2026. Interested students are advised to monitor official NTA channels for the specific opening and closing dates for submissions.

The examination will follow the established Computer Based Test (CBT) format. Candidates will have a total of 180 minutes to complete the paper, which consists of 100 questions. The test is structured into five distinct sections: Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness, and Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Each section contains 20 questions, contributing to a total of 400 marks. The marking scheme remains consistent with previous years, awarding four marks for every correct answer and deducting one mark for each incorrect response.

Preparation and Syllabus Overview

The CMAT syllabus, prescribed by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), is designed to evaluate candidates on competencies essential for management education. The Quantitative Techniques section covers topics such as algebra, geometry, and data interpretation, while the Logical Reasoning section tests analytical skills through arrangements and series. Language Comprehension focuses on grammar and reading skills, and General Awareness encompasses current affairs in politics, business, and sports. Additionally, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship section addresses concepts related to startups and business development.

The examination is expected to be conducted in a single shift across more than 120 cities nationwide.
