The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released a formal advisory for students appearing in its various national-level examinations, including NEET, JEE, and UGC NET. The directive aims to streamline the grievance redressal process, which has faced challenges due to a high volume of incomplete queries submitted via email and social media platforms.

According to the agency, many students currently submit complaints without providing essential information such as their application number or the specific name of the examination. This lack of detail hinders the NTA’s ability to locate individual records, leading to delays in addressing student concerns. The new guidelines are designed to help the agency process requests more efficiently and provide timely responses to candidates.

Guidelines for Submitting Formal Queries

To ensure that grievances are directed to the appropriate teams, the NTA has outlined a standardized procedure for all communications. Candidates are required to use the email address they registered with during the application process. Furthermore, the subject line of the email must clearly state the candidate's application number to facilitate quick identification.

In addition to the application number, students must explicitly mention the name of the examination—such as NEET, JEE, or UGC NET—to which their query pertains. The body of the email should contain a concise description of the issue, accompanied by any relevant supporting documents or screenshots that may assist officials in understanding the problem. The agency emphasized that providing these details is crucial for resolving time-sensitive matters, such as issues with admit cards, application forms, answer keys, or examination centers.

Using Dedicated Helpdesk Channels

A critical component of the new advisory is the requirement for students to contact the correct examination-specific helpdesk. The NTA has clarified that sending grievances to general or unrelated email addresses often results in unnecessary delays. Instead, candidates should consult the official Information Bulletin or the specific examination website to identify the dedicated helpdesk email address assigned to their particular test.

By adhering to these protocols, students can ensure their records are easily accessible to the relevant departments. The NTA maintains that these steps are necessary to manage the large scale of applications it handles annually and to improve the overall support experience for candidates across all its major entrance and recruitment examinations.
