The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially released the examination calendar for the first session of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2027. This announcement provides clarity for engineering aspirants planning their preparation for the upcoming national-level entrance test, which serves as a primary gateway for admission into prestigious institutions such as the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs).
According to the official notification, the JEE Main 2027 Session 1 examinations are scheduled to take place on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30, 2027. To account for any unforeseen circumstances that might disrupt the testing process, the NTA has designated January 31, 2027, as a buffer date. The examination will be conducted in the computer-based test (CBT) mode as per the established standards for the B.E./B.Tech papers.
While the exam dates for the first session are confirmed, the NTA has not yet announced the specific dates for the commencement of the online registration process. Prospective candidates are advised to monitor the official NTA website for the release of the application forms, which are tentatively anticipated to be available in October 2026 based on previous examination cycles. The agency is also expected to provide a dedicated correction window following the conclusion of the application period, though official dates for these events remain pending.
Regarding the second session of the examination, the NTA has not yet disclosed a formal schedule. Historically, the second session is conducted in the first half of April, and students can expect further updates regarding this phase in the coming months. Candidates retain the flexibility to apply for both sessions simultaneously or individually, depending on their academic planning.
As students prepare for the upcoming cycle, it is essential to note that the NTA has provided the framework for the January session, but all other milestones—including city intimation slips, the release of admit cards, and the final result declaration—will follow in the subsequent months leading up to the exam. The result for the first session is currently projected for February 2027.
Candidates are encouraged to rely solely on official communications from the NTA regarding application deadlines and eligibility criteria. As the registration window opens, applicants will be required to complete the submission process through the official portal to secure their eligibility for the B.E./B.Tech entrance. Further details regarding the Session 2 schedule and specific application deadlines will be released by the authorities in due course.
