The Tamil Nadu Medical Selection Committee has officially initiated the round 2 choice filling and locking process for NEET UG 2026 counselling. Students seeking admission to MBBS and BDS programmes across the state can now log in to the official portal to register their preferred medical and dental colleges.
This phase of the counselling process is critical for candidates aiming to secure seats under government and management quotas, which includes designated NRI and minority category seats. Participants are required to complete their submissions through the official website at tnmedicalselection.net before the specified deadline.
According to the official schedule released by the committee, the window for choice filling and locking remains open until September 13, 2026, at 2 PM. Following the closure of this window, authorities will proceed with the processing of virtual vacancies on September 9, followed by the seat allotment process on September 14.
The final seat allotment results for the second round are scheduled to be published on September 15, 2026. Successful candidates will then be able to download their provisional allotment orders from the portal between September 15 and September 18. The deadline for reporting and joining the allotted medical or dental institution is set for September 18, 2026, by 5 PM.
To participate in the round 2 process, candidates must first visit the official counselling website and access the designated link for MBBS and BDS admissions. After logging in with their credentials, applicants should carefully select their preferred institutions and courses. It is essential to arrange these choices in order of preference before locking the final submission.
Once the choices are locked and submitted, candidates are advised to save or download the confirmation page for their records. The committee emphasises that all candidates must adhere to the strict timeline, as no submissions will be accepted after the 2 PM deadline on September 13. Applicants are encouraged to monitor the official portal regularly for any further updates regarding the seat allotment process and subsequent joining procedures.
