The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER) in Chennai is set to announce the counselling dates for the Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2026, which will facilitate admissions for MBBS and BDS courses at 85% of the state quota seats. The official announcement will be made on the website tnmedicalselection.net, where students can find all relevant information regarding the counselling process. Currently, the registration for the NEET counselling has concluded, and candidates are eagerly awaiting the release of the merit list and subsequent choice-filling process.

The counselling schedule for Tamil Nadu NEET 2026 is expected to be published soon, detailing the timeline for various rounds of counselling. The first round of counselling is anticipated to take place from August 13 to August 22, 2026, with the last date for joining being August 28, 2026. Following this, the second round is scheduled from August 31 to September 8, 2026, and the third round will occur from September 16 to September 26, 2026. The stray round of counselling is set for October 3 to October 5, 2026, with a final joining date of October 10, 2026.

Once the merit list is published, candidates whose names appear will be invited to participate in the online choice filling and locking process. During this phase, students will rank their preferred medical or dental colleges according to their priorities. The seat allocation will be based on NEET scores, category reservations, and the availability of seats, culminating in the release of the Round 1 seat allotment results.

Selected candidates will then need to complete the document verification process to secure their admission into the medical or dental undergraduate programs. This verification is a crucial step in confirming their eligibility and finalizing their enrollment in the chosen institutions.
