The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has officially commenced the choice-filling process for the third round of Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counselling. Candidates eligible for this round can now log in to the official website, tneaonline.org, to submit their preferred colleges and courses. The choice-filling window will remain open until August 19, 2026, at 5 PM, providing ample time for candidates to make their selections.

This third round of counselling is specifically designed for candidates who have secured general ranks ranging from 1,31,094 to 2,33,812, with corresponding aggregate marks between 135.5 and 77.500. Those who meet these criteria are encouraged to participate in this final opportunity to secure their desired engineering programs. The choice-filling process began at 10 AM on August 17 and will conclude on August 19, allowing candidates to carefully consider their options.

Following the choice-filling period, the tentative seat allotment results are scheduled to be released on August 21. Candidates will then have a brief window from August 21 to 22 to confirm their tentative allotments. For those who accept their allotments or choose to opt for upward movement, the provisional allotment will be published on August 23. The joining and reporting phase for successful candidates will take place from August 23 to August 27.

To participate in the choice-filling process, candidates must log in to the TNEA portal using their credentials. They are required to select their preferred colleges and branches, arranging them in order of preference before final submission. It is crucial for candidates to understand that the order of their choices will significantly impact the seat allotment, which is determined by factors such as rank, community, seat availability, and the sequence of choices entered.

As this is the final round of TNEA 2026 counselling, candidates are strongly advised to review their preferences meticulously before locking in their choices. This careful consideration is essential, as the decisions made during this round will determine their academic paths in engineering for the upcoming academic year.
