For those students who wish to go to MBA programmes beyond the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). There are several National Institutes of Technology (NITs) that have their own management departments and provide MBA programmes.
The CAT, MAT, XAT, CMAT or other accepted management entrance exams and scores may be used to determine admission to the institute, followed by a Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI) or an institute-level selection process.
Fee amounts may have various components, including tuition, Institute fee, examination fee, hostel fee, etc. Students are advised to refer to the latest fee notice from the respective NIT.

Eligibility Criteria for MBA programs in NITs

Eligibility criteria can differ across different NITs, but a bachelor's degree from a recognised university is generally required. For example:
  • NIT Calicut: 60% for General/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL and 55% for SC/ST/PwD under the regular-CAT route.
  • NIT Rourkela: 60% or 6.5 CGPA; 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST.
  • NIT Warangal: 60% or 6.5 CGPA; 55% or 6.0 CGPA for SC/ST/PwD.
  • NIT Agartala: 60% for engineering graduates and 55% for other disciplines, according to its programme information.
