VIT Pune Commences ACAP Spot Admission Round for B.Tech Vacant Seats

The Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT) in Pune has officially launched its institutional-level ACAP spot admission process for the 2026-27 academic year. This round is specifically designed to fill B.Tech seats that remained vacant following the conclusion of the Maharashtra CET Cell’s Centralised Admission Process (CAP) rounds.

The counselling sessions are currently being held at the institute’s Kondhwa campus. The process, which began on September 9, 2026, follows a structured schedule based on the merit lists generated for candidates who applied through MHT-CET and JEE Main examinations. The institute has already completed the preliminary stages, including the publication of provisional and final merit lists, to ensure a transparent allocation process.

Counselling Procedure and Reporting Schedule

To manage the intake efficiently, VIT Pune has established specific reporting time slots based on a candidate's merit number and their respective candidature category. For JEE Main applicants under the All India category, reporting times were staggered from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. Similarly, candidates applying under the Maharashtra State candidature based on MHT-CET PCM scores were assigned slots between 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm.

The institute has emphasised that adherence to these timings is critical. During the counselling, seats are allotted based on inter-se merit. If a candidate is not present when their merit number is announced, they risk losing their opportunity for a merit-based seat. To maintain fairness, the institute allows a candidate's name to be called a maximum of three times during the session. As seats are filled, they are removed from the available vacancy list, though the institute notes that the seat matrix remains dynamic due to potential cancellations or student movements.

Important Guidelines for Applicants

Participation in the ACAP round required candidates to pay a non-refundable application processing fee of ₹2,000. It is mandatory for all attendees to bring their application forms, transaction receipts, and all necessary supporting documents for physical verification at the campus. The institute has clarified that while the current vacancy list includes various B.Tech programmes—ranging from Computer Engineering to Civil Engineering—vacant TFWS and EWS seats from the CAP rounds are excluded from this specific process.

Regarding the financial requirements, the annual fee for most categories, including Open, EWS, SEBC, OBC, VJNT, SBC, and SC/ST, is set at ₹2,12,171, with a slight adjustment to ₹2,12,671 for Open-OMS candidates. Should any seats remain unfilled after the current round, VIT Pune will publish updated vacancy details on its official website. The institute reserves the right to conduct additional rounds if necessary, with any further schedules to be announced through official channels.
