WBJEEB to Announce Phase 2 Special Vacancy Allocation for Decentralised Counselling 2026

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is set to release the results for the Phase 2 special vacancy allocation under the decentralised counselling process for 2026. Candidates awaiting their seat allotment status will be able to access the results online starting tomorrow, September 30, at 10 AM through the official portal at wbjeeb.co.in.

This upcoming allocation round, often referred to as the special round or Round 3, is designed to address vacant seats that remained following the conclusion of the second round of Phase 2 counselling. By facilitating this upgradation process, the board aims to provide additional admission opportunities for eligible students seeking placement in participating institutions.

Allocation Process and Confirmation Requirements

According to the official notification from the board, there will be no requirement for fresh choice filling for this special vacancy round. Instead, the allocation will be determined based on the preferences previously submitted by candidates during the registration process for the WBJEE decentralised counselling 2026 Phase 2. The final seat allotment will be strictly governed by a combination of the candidate's merit rank, their stated preferences, and the current availability of seats.

In instances where a candidate receives multiple allocations, they are required to select their preferred option and lock it accordingly. Following the announcement of the results, successful candidates must complete the admission confirmation process by paying the mandatory seat acceptance fee. The deadline for completing this payment and confirming the seat is October 3, 2026. The board has explicitly stated that failure to confirm the allocation by this deadline will result in the automatic cancellation of the candidate's admission. Depending on the number of remaining vacancies, the authorities have indicated that additional rounds may be conducted if necessary.
