Founded in 1979, Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) is a state university situated in Punjab. The regional campus of the University is in Jalandhar. GNDU RC comprises five departments: the Department of Engineering & Technology, Punjabi, Law, Journalism & Mass Communication, and Research & Development. These departments together offer seven courses at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. GNDU has gained international recognition, with alumni working at prestigious companies worldwide. It is the first university in Punjab to achieve Category-I status from the University Grants Commission (UGC). Additionally, it is accredited by the NAAC with an 'A++' grade and is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). Furthermore, GNDU was ranked 2nd and 51st among the top universities in Punjab and India, respectively, by NIRF 2020.
