Harcourt Butler Technical University Kanpur was founded in 2016 by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The university is recognized by the UGC and has received approval from the AICTE. HBTU has been accredited with an 'A+' grade by NAAC. Additionally, it is affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU). HBTU Kanpur has formed partnerships with several international universities and organizations, including the University of South Florida, Florida Polytechnic University, and the Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia.
