NLU Delhi Admission Process 2025

The admission process at NLU Delhi consists of three steps, starting with the application process, followed by shortlisting candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination, and finally issuing admission offers to candidates. Admission to the flagship law courses at NLU Delhi is conducted through AILET. The detailed step-by-step NLU Delhi admission process is outlined below:

Step 1: NLU Application

Candidates wishing to secure admission to the law courses at NLU must apply via AILET.

Applicants who qualify as Persons of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) may apply under both the OCI/PIO category and as Indian Students separately. They must submit two distinct application forms: one for India and another for the OCI/PIO category.

Step 2: NLU Selection Rounds: Merit list

NLU shortlists candidates based on their merit in the AILET entrance exam. The AILET consists of three sections with 150 multiple-choice questions, totaling 150 marks. The exam duration is one hour and twenty minutes, and there is negative marking. Following the exam, the university will release provisional merit lists for each program. In cases of tied merit, preference will be given to the older candidate.

  • 70% weightage will be assigned to AILET Merit Previous Year Question Paper
  • 30% weightage will be distributed with 15% each for the Interview and Group Discussion.
