The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has officially commenced the web option entry process for the first phase of AP LAWCET 2026 counselling. Candidates seeking admission into 3-year and 5-year LLB programmes across participating law colleges in the state are required to log in to the official portal at cap.apcfss.in to register their preferences. This critical phase of the admission process, which began on September 29, is scheduled to conclude on October 2, 2026.

During this window, applicants are encouraged to carefully select and prioritise their preferred colleges and courses. The seat allotment process is directly influenced by the choices submitted by candidates, making it essential for students to approach the web option exercise with a clear strategy. Officials have advised candidates to avoid limiting their choices and to ensure that their preferred institutions are ranked according to their actual priority, placing their most desired colleges at the top of the list.

Important Dates and Counselling Schedule

Following the conclusion of the web option entry on October 2, candidates will be provided with a window on October 3 to modify their selections if necessary. It is important to note that the online certificate verification process for Phase 1 also concludes on October 2. Candidates are urged to complete both the web options and the verification requirements promptly to avoid potential technical issues associated with high traffic on the final day.

Once the selection process is finalised, the authorities will release the Phase 1 seat allotment results on October 6, 2026. Students who are successfully allotted a seat will then be required to report to their respective colleges between October 7 and October 9. While the current focus remains on the first phase, the council has indicated that the second round of counselling is expected to commence in mid-October 2026.

Strategic Planning for Seat Allotment

The AP LAWCET, conducted by Acharya Nagarjuna University on behalf of the APSCHE, serves as the gateway for thousands of students aiming to secure a seat in one of the 30 participating law colleges. Given the competitive nature of the admissions, with typically 28,000 to 30,000 registrations annually, the order of preferences plays a significant role in the outcome. Experts suggest that candidates should research their options thoroughly rather than selecting colleges based solely on their reputation or name.

By placing a wide range of choices in the system, candidates can improve their chances of securing a seat that aligns with their academic goals. As the October 2 deadline approaches, applicants should ensure all necessary documentation is verified and their final list of preferences is submitted through the official APSCHE law portal to ensure their participation in the upcoming seat allocation.
