The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has officially commenced the registration and choice-filling process for the second round of the Undergraduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2026. This phase is intended for candidates seeking admission into MBBS, BDS, B.V.Sc. & A.H., and B.F.Sc. programmes across the state. The updated counselling schedule follows the inclusion of new government and private medical institutions, as well as an increase in seat availability at various private colleges.

Eligible candidates who qualified for the NEET UG 2026 examination are invited to participate in this round. The process is open to both those who participated in the first round and those who are applying for the first time, provided they meet the necessary eligibility criteria set by the board. Participants can access the official BCECEB website to register, submit their applications, and manage their college preferences.

Key Dates and Counselling Schedule

The registration window and the facility for online application-cum-choice filling opened on September 12, 2026. Candidates who wish to resign or withdraw from a seat allotted during the first round have until September 13, 2026, to complete the process. For those registering or submitting applications, the deadline for fee payment is September 15, 2026, at 11:59 PM, with the consent window for Round 2 closing at 10:00 PM on the same day.

Following the registration phase, the board will publish the rank card on September 17, 2026. Candidates must finalise, edit, and lock their choices by 11:59 PM on September 18, 2026. The BCECEB has advised students not to delay the choice-locking process until the final hours to avoid technical issues. The provisional seat allotment results for Round 2 are scheduled to be released on September 22, 2026. Successful candidates will be able to download their allotment orders from September 22 to September 25, with document verification and the subsequent admission process taking place between September 24 and September 25, 2026.

Updated Seat Matrix and Participation Guidelines

A significant development for this round is the expansion of the seat matrix. The Government Medical College in Chapra and the Kurma Sanskriti Medical College & Hospital in Jehanabad have been added to the list of participating institutions. Additionally, several private medical colleges have reported an increase in their seat intake. Candidates are strongly encouraged to review the updated seat matrix on the official portal before finalising their preferences to ensure their choices reflect the current availability.

To participate, candidates must log in to the BCECEB portal, complete their registration if they are new applicants, and provide consent for the second round where applicable. Students should carefully review their previous choices, as some may have become void, and submit fresh preferences based on the updated college list. Once all selections are confirmed, locking the choices is a mandatory step to ensure the application is considered for the seat allotment process.
