CBSE Releases 2027 Board Exam Date Sheet for Classes 10 and 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the examination schedule for the 2027 board exams for both Class 10 and Class 12. With the timetable now available, over 46 lakh registered students—comprising 26.5 lakh in Class 10 and 19.8 lakh in Class 12—can begin finalizing their preparation strategies for the upcoming academic assessment.

The board has confirmed that the examinations are set to commence on February 16, 2027. By releasing the date sheet 101 days ahead of the start date, the CBSE aims to provide students with ample time to organize their study schedules. The finalized timetable accounts for various factors, including student subject combinations, the scheduling of major entrance examinations, and the logistical availability of examination centers.

Exam Schedule and Key Details

For Class 10 students, the board exams will kick off with the Painting paper on February 16, 2027. This will be followed by Mathematics (Standard and Basic) on February 17, Home Science on February 19, and Science on February 22. Subsequent major papers include Computer Applications, IT, and AI on February 24, English on February 26, French on March 6, and Social Science on March 8. The Class 10 examinations are scheduled to conclude on March 9, 2027.

Across the board, the examinations will begin at 10:30 AM (IST). While the start time is uniform, the duration of each paper will vary depending on the specific subject. Most major examinations are slated to run until 1:30 PM, though some papers will conclude earlier at 12:30 PM. The board has explicitly advised students to verify the specific duration listed against each subject in the official PDF to avoid any confusion on exam day.

Accessing the Official Timetable

The comprehensive date sheet, which covers 83 subjects for Class 10 and 121 subjects for Class 12, is available for download on the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. To access the document, students should navigate to the 'Latest @ CBSE' or 'Examination' section on the homepage, where they can download the PDF file for their respective class.

According to the board, the timely submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) by schools played a crucial role in the early release of the 2027 schedule. Students are encouraged to download the PDF, cross-reference their specific subject dates, and use the provided timeline to structure their final revision sessions effectively.
