CBSE Releases Tentative 2027 Board Exam Dates for Classes 10 and 12

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially released the tentative date sheet for the 2027 board examinations for both Class 10 and Class 12 students. This announcement, made on November 6, 2026, provides an early look at the examination schedule, allowing students to begin their preparations with a clear timeline in mind.

According to the notification, the board examinations for both secondary and senior secondary levels are set to begin on February 16, 2027. While the Class 10 examinations are scheduled to conclude on March 9, 2027, the Class 12 examinations will extend until April 9, 2027. The board has explicitly clarified that these dates are currently tentative, and a final, confirmed date sheet will be issued at a later stage.

Key Details for Students and Exam Preparation

Students are advised to treat the released schedule as a planning tool to structure their study routines effectively. Because the board has noted that several subjects may be scheduled for the same day, it is essential for candidates to verify their specific subject codes against the official date sheet. These subject codes, which are also found on student admit cards, serve as the primary reference to avoid confusion regarding exam dates.

Furthermore, the board has highlighted that paper timings may vary depending on the subject. Students should carefully review the official documentation to note the specific start times for each of their papers. The complete tentative schedule is available for download on the official CBSE website at cbse.gov.in. To access the files, students should navigate to the Latest @ CBSE section on the homepage, where they can view and download the PDF documents for their respective classes.

How to Access the Official Tentative Schedule

To ensure accuracy, students and parents should rely solely on the official portal for updates. The process for retrieving the document involves visiting the board's website, locating the relevant link for the 2027 date sheet, and downloading the PDF for personal reference. Keeping a printed copy of the schedule can be helpful for tracking upcoming exams and managing revision timelines throughout the academic year.

As the board moves toward finalizing the examination schedule, students are encouraged to monitor the official website for any subsequent announcements or adjustments to the tentative dates. By planning ahead using this preliminary information, candidates can better organize their academic workload and prepare for the upcoming board assessment season.
