The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially opened the List of Candidates (LOC) correction window for the 2026-27 academic session. This facility is specifically designed for students preparing to appear for the Class 10 and 12 board examinations in 2027. Following a notification issued on November 2, 2026, the board has mandated that all affiliated schools must thoroughly verify the information submitted for their students and rectify any identified discrepancies within the designated timeframe.
The correction window serves as a critical period for schools to ensure that all personal and academic data held by the board is accurate. Because the correction facility is accessible exclusively to school authorities, students and their parents are encouraged to proactively communicate with their respective school administrations to confirm that their details are correctly recorded. This process is essential for avoiding complications during the examination process or when results are eventually processed.
It is important for school administrators and stakeholders to distinguish between the current correction window and the previously concluded late-submission facility. During the earlier phase, schools that failed to meet the regular submission deadline were permitted to upload candidate details upon payment of an additional late fee of INR 2,000 per candidate. This late fee was strictly associated with the delayed submission of data and does not grant schools an extension or special privileges regarding data modifications once the official correction window closes.
The board has clarified that the payment of a late fee does not automatically authorize changes to student information after the correction window has passed. Consequently, schools are urged to treat the current correction period as the final opportunity to ensure the integrity of the submitted data. Once this facility is closed, schools will be required to adhere to the board's specific instructions regarding the data already on record, making timely verification a priority.
To ensure a smooth examination process, the CBSE has outlined specific areas that require careful scrutiny. Schools are responsible for verifying that the student's full name is entered without abbreviations and that the names of parents or guardians are spelled accurately. Furthermore, the date of birth must be cross-referenced with official school records to ensure complete alignment.
In addition to personal identification details, schools must confirm that the subject combinations selected for the board examinations are correct. For students where passport details are applicable, it is vital to ensure that these match the information provided in the LOC. If any errors are discovered, students and parents should report these to their school authorities immediately, as they cannot independently edit their information through the CBSE portal. By completing these checks within the permitted period, schools can help prevent potential issues for candidates during the 2027 board examination cycle.
